The beginning of '47

The story of '47 begins with twin brothers, Arthur and Henry, who immigrated from Italy to America.
The first English words the two, who couldn't speak any English, learned were "two cents."
This was the price of the newspapers they sold around Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, to earn a living.

In 1947, the two began selling baseball merchandise, such as pennants, which were not widely available at the time, and it thrilled many baseball fans.
" '47" was named after the abbreviated year. This is where the '47 business began.

'47 and the Boston Red Sox

Since the twin brothers Arthur and Henry immigrated to America in 1938 at the age of 12, they have always spent their time at Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox.
As time passed, Arthur's four sons also found Fenway Park to be their workplace, home, and school since they were old enough to remember.
For the D'Angelo family, the Boston Red Sox are a special team and an inseparable part of their lives.
Recognized for his accomplishments, Arthur was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2018.
