Why Merino Wool is Preferred

Wool is an excellent natural material that provides heat retention and moisture absorption depending on the season and body temperature, constantly maintaining an ideal body temperature. Its function is often referred to as a "natural air conditioner," making it an outstanding material for temperature regulation not only in winter but also in air-conditioned environments during summer. Wool is a versatile material that adapts to the seasons, with renewed appreciation for its benefits in preventing heatstroke. Among wools, the Merino variety, considered the finest, has a smooth feel and can be worn comfortably all year round.

The "quality assurance symbol" set by The Woolmark Company. If this mark is present, it means that the product uses at least 99.7% virgin wool and has passed the strict quality standards for material performance and stitching set by The Woolmark Company.

Oeko-Tex Standard

Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing, certification, and authorization system for textile products. It guarantees that the product does not contain harmful substances. Only products that meet the criteria set by Oeko-Tex 100 are permitted to use the Oeko-Tex label.

Nordic Ecolabel (Swan Mark)

The Swan Mark (established in 1989), like Oeko-Tex, aims to minimize the impact of products and services on human health and the environment. It is formulated based on an assessment of environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle, from raw materials to manufacturing, consumption, and recycling of waste products.

Why it's not scratchy

JOHA targets fine fibers of 18-19 microns, among the highest quality merino wool, resulting in almost no scratchiness. Generally, it's not that fibers thicker than 30 microns (30/1000 mm) are scratchy if they make up 5% or more, but rather that the ends of thick fibers prick the skin, causing the scratchy sensation.
