What is Reverse Weave?

A manufacturing method that uses the fabric horizontally.

Typical sweatshirts are vertical.

"REVERSE WEAVE?" acquired its second patent in 1952.

Design

This relaxed-fit garment has ample width and shoulder room, and the wash treatment gives it a worn-in feel from the first wear.

In addition to the print on the chest, there's the familiar brand logo patch on the left sleeve.

Chest Print

The chest print features motifs related to the Air Force Academy, reinterpreted with college-style graphics that have a strong affinity with the Champion brand. The design features "USAFA" in an arch, with the year the academy was established, 1954, expressed in a capsule, all applied with cracking rubber print.

*As an aside, the United States Air Force Academy is a four-year institution that develops the abilities, leadership, and knowledge necessary for officer candidates to serve as commissioned officers. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the Air Force or Space Force.

"EXPANSION GUSSET" is incorporated on both sides to minimize the effect of horizontal shrinkage and ensure ease of movement.

History of Champion

Champion is a long-established sportswear brand founded in 1919 in Rochester, New York.
The brand then began supplying highly functional and durable apparel to university sports teams (American football and basketball), building trust and a solid track record.
Sam Friedland devised the "Reverse Weave?" method.
"REVERSE WEAVE?" acquired its second patent in 1952.
